Need Help With APU and Memory

Go to solution Solved by Mentalguy,

Hi people

So im going to buy the

ASUS A88X-PLUS

As well as the

A10-7850K

And need help with a couple of things...

Im going to buy the Hyper 212 EVO , and the Kingston Hyperx Fury Black CL10 1866 , and i was thinking of overclocking...

So , what i needed help with (and still do) , was with the overclock basics and stuff like that , i never overclocked , so i wanted to overclock my CPU and the Memory , and i have no idea how to do that,i heard of something like XMP but i dont know how to use it , i would like to overclock my Memory to at least 2133 , or even 2400 if i have to squeeze that performance , because i heard this memory can overclock quite well with no problems , of course im going to test all my components first , so if anyone could do a small tutorial or teach me how to overclock my a10-7850 and my memory on the asus board , i would be very gratefull!

i wouldnt go with an apu, go for a 760k and a discrete gpu, you will get more power for the money.

get yourself some g.skill sniper series 2133 they run pretty cheap right now....and as for ocing an apu there really is no need due to the turbo clock when more performance is needed. also MSI's oc genie is a fantastic perk to their motherboards you can always look into what i have the msi a88x-g45

My vote is for the unlocked Pentium. The Athlon + Discrete makes more sense than the 7850K and the Pentium kicks the Athlons ass, even when overclocked. The per core performance is so big that the Athlon 4 cores @ 4.4ghz and the Pentium 2 cores at around 4.6ghz will be pretty much the same. 4.4 and 4.6 are the expected OCs for each chip. So in quad threaded games they perform the same but in lightly threaded pentium runs circles.
