Question: SLI Hero VII 780ti Reference or not?

Hey guys,

since my browser crashed last time i wrote this and it's lost I'll make it shorter :D

So I am planning a new PC and I am going to get a z97 Hero from Asus. I also want to go 780ti SLI. My question is if it's better in terms of heat to go for 780ti MSI twinfrzr or EVGA SC reference cooler.

I am a bit concerned about the noise levels but I dont care about a little bit of noise (never had a direct comparison between the two).

I hope you can help me with my first world problems :D

Good question actually. On one hand the MSI are far better. On the other the bottom card would be expelling heat outside the case rather than onto the second card.

it depend on your casing

if you casing has poor airflow

then it make sense to use the reference design

but you got a huge case, the non reference will be the better option

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

So you basically say if the gpu's are like 5 mm apart with a big tower say cosmos ii whatever it doesn't matter?

you will be fine with non reference ones

just make sure you have air flow from front to rear

Okay, I was going to give the GPUs an additional intake from the side.
