Hey guys.

I currently am running a 5760*1080 Eyefinity setup using this monitor.

A friend of mine is wanting to buy one of my monitors off me, and so I have been considering possible upgrade paths that would not leave me too out of pocket.

I am considering replacing the middle 16:9 panel with a 21:9 panel, such as the ones linked below. Has anybody here tried that?

What are your suggestions? Should I keep my three identical 22" monitors, or should I replace one with an Ultrawide?

Thanks!

Ultrawides I am considering:

(Please keep in mind that I live in Australia in case you want to suggest I buy it at US prices from a US store. Also, my maximum budget for new monitors is absolutely no more than $500, and I want to upgrade on the cheap if possible)

I've used the LG myself, and a friend has the AOC (he doesn't game all that much though). I vote on the LG.

Eyefinity with a 21:9 and two 16:9's at the side...that would be cool! I don't know if anyone's done it, but if given the chance, I would. Sounds killed, although a bit overkill in my eyes (pun intended) with how the 21:9 fit my vision fairly well personally :P

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

Could you tell me a little more about the size difference of the 25" and 29" ultrawide monitors?

Which would be better suited to being flanked by 22" 16:9's?

Is the 29" worth the extra $150?

I would get the one that has vesa mounts if any.

kinda something like this? i know its not 21:9 but closest ive seen and i love these setups

Yeah something kind of like that, but with all monitors being in landscape mode.

As for VESA mounts, I can't find any stands that would support this setup, with the 21:9 screen being too wide.

I can barely even find a 1+3 stand for 24" monitors that has the adjustability I would like for a reasonable price.

The 25" is going to be around the vertical height of a 23" or so 16:9 monitor. Maybe a little smaller. It should fit better aesthetically with your current 16:9's. However, if you want more screen space, the 29" would look nice as well, but might not be tall enough for the 22" monitors to be in a vertical format next to them. (and the friend I mentioned complains about colour reproduction and contrast with it, but he's a nitpicky pre/post production worker on video and image stuff)
