Hi there. My current rig is

MSI b75a-g43 gaming 9only mobo i could get cause my other one broke)

Sound Blaster Z

i7-3770k

Corsair h100i

AMD r9-280x

16GB 1600mhz ram

60Gb SSD for OS

2x HDD for downloads and games

qnix qx2710 2560x1440 @ 96Hz

Corsair air 540

Corsair ax850w

Now the real question is that I have another r9-280x that I want to crossfire. I'm from South Africa and am struggling to get my hands on a 1155 crossfire motherboard. My other issue is that I can't install another graphics card due to the fact that the graphics card will block my sata ports so what can I do. I already tried getting my hands on silverstone cp11 cables and I can get them but they rather expensive here as I have to import it. Now I was thinking maybe I should upgrade to 4790k and MSI gaming 5 motherboard then keep the rest but first want to know what else I can do to maybe fix my issue and get crossfire working without spending money that I don't have to?

So what do you suggest I do?

Thanks

I'd have to say don't use crossfire, instead just save some money for a Nvidia GTX 780 or something like that, but its up to you.

That's rather expensive but yet again upgrading to 4790k also expensive. I can maybe also try to sell both cards and get a r9-290 gaming. Back whenI was still running crossfire I could play bf4 on ultra 2xmsaa ssao and no post aa and get almost 120fps all the time. The only issue was the fact that my old 2500k that's in a work pc now was holding me back, so far with 1 card since I enabled mantle it has been working great so if i can crossfire again I can maybe test mantle to see if it will be better. I can almost maintain 70-95 fps with 1 card in most games on about high to medium details and no aa except for games like crysis etc etc.

get a CF/SLI ready Motherboard than think about CF 280X, or sell it, make some more and get a 780/290, the important thing is getting a more flexible Mobo

Upgrading from 280x to R9 290, nah. R9 280x to 780 ti, or dual R9 290X

I've learned my lesson now. Rather get the best high end card like for example 780 or r9-290 and then maybe later on crossfire or so. I will edit OP with my pc case.

Also the r9-290 sounds like the best option if I'm looking at getting a new card. lot's of vram with a 512bit bus and about half the price of 780ti here.
