Hey guys, I'm an American currentlyliving in Germany. I'll soon be going to university and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about what regulations/laws there are for foreigners to move to Canada? And does anyone know where the best jobs centered around computer science are?

Look at the University of Waterloo computer science program. Waterloo Ontario has Sybase, Rim, Designtolearn, Google... I can go on.

If you apply for a Student Visa it should not be a huge problem. Just have to jump through the hoops... You will discover foreign student tuition in Canada is quite good.... Canadian students complain about their tuition.... $5500 year, but $19,000 is still a great deal or foreign students...

Hope this helps.

Wow thanks for the quick answers. Toronto would be great, it looks like such a beautiful city. Waterloo sounds cool too, but I'm actually getting an almost free education here in Germany so I was thinking Canada more or less after graduation..

You might like Waterloo... Its name before the second world war was Little Berlin. It also has the worlds second largest Octoberfest! ;)

Oh my god, you just reminded me that I can go to that this year. So stoked. Waterloo is freaking awesome, applying for the comp sci program they have soon.

Haha, I live one hour from Munich and if you've ever been to Oktoberfest you'll know that sane people only go once and then never again :D The real attractions are the smaller beer festivals scattered around Bavaria.

But I digress, Waterloo looks great especially because it's near Toronto. Thanks for all the nice replies guys!

try moving to Calgary or Winnipeg . If you look on www.memoryexpress.com they have some jobs that can help you. First get a student visa!

I think Waterloo would actually be perfect. My grandparents live in Minnesota so I would eventually be moving from there, and according to a few websites it actually shouldn't be too hard to get a visa being an American citizen. It might even help that I already have a Permanent Residence Visa here in Germany. But yeah, I checked out the University of Waterloo and it sounds like there are a lot of great opportunities there.
