hey,

so i have this problem with my current setup.

i have 3 monitors all hooked up via dvi(2 on top card,1 on bottom card),

and since i want to use shadowplay and it doesn't work with nvidia surround,i use the active all monitors in the nvidia control panel,

but that disables my SLI,and to have SLI enabled i need to connect everything to the first card.

my monitors have 1 dvi,1 displayport and 1 vga.

so i want to hook 2 of them via dvi,and 1 via displayport.

but it seems like displayport doesn't work....what am i missing here?

do i need like an displayport to hdmi?

or maybe dvi to hdmi?

thanks   :D

the monitor doesn't have hdmi sadly

Oop, my bad. Might be worth trying a DP to HDMI adapter. Just an idea, have you tried using the other card to connect all of the displays? Could be a faulty DP connector. Another option would be to use a HDMI to DVI adapter to see if that works. I have my monitors set up using 2x DVI and one HDMI and it works well.

you have 2 dvi and the hdmi hooked up to one card?

if nvidia would only support using shadowplay with nvidia surround i wouldn't have this problem....

I have two DVI and one HDMI on the top card, along with one DVI on the bottom card for when I use surround.

i tried connecting everything to the lower card,

still doesn't detect the DP...

i think i'll try displayport(from monitor)to hdmi(to gpu),or dvi(from monitor)to hdmi(to gpu)

so frustrating...

If all your trying to do is record gameplay then something like Fraps or Dxtory would be ideal. If your not willing to pay for either of them I'm sure a quick Google search with the word 'free' on the end would bring some results.

i'm not going to give up performance and HDD space and comfort just because of this little problem....

if something happens in-game i just press a button and it saves it,

if i use dxtory i would need to record everything and have huge files and for a 20 seconds clip i would need to keep a 50GB file...

Well then my next best solution to the problem would be to buy a HDMI to DVI cable, assuming you monitors are no more than 1920x1200.

I don't know if i need hdmi to dvi or hdmi to dp...meh....

I've always found HDMI to DVI the best as they're pretty much the same cable with different sockets. HDMI to DVI is a straight forward cable, I'm pretty sure DP to DVI requires a little bit of work done in the converter.
