Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy a 240GB SSD For Win8 and Battlefield (loading times)

When is searched the web how I could get windows on the new ssd I found 2 ways to do it:

*Clone the hard drive using software and transfer it to the SSD, the capacety of the SSD must me larger than HDD

*Install windows new on the SSD (I would lose my files)

My current boot drive is a 1TB HDD filled with Win8.1 +/-600gb of steam and origin games

I cannot clone my HDD because my SSD is simply to small.

I could delete al my games so that My HDD has a smaller capacity then the SSD and  clone my HDD and transfer is to my SSD but I could safe myself a lot

of download time if there is a way I could clone parts from my HDD so I don't have to install my games again? or clone certain parts not?

Thanks for reading (sorry for my not very strong English i'm from the Netherlands)

Here is what I would do (actually what I did when I got mine).

1) Install the SSD into the system.

2) Install Windows onto the SSD (unplug the HDD so there is only one option for installing windows and it wont just boot onto the HDD)

3) Plug the HDD back in. You PC should now still start Win8 from the SSD and you can just copy whatever files to your SSD. For Battlefield you want to start the download and then stop it right after. Then copy the files from your HDD to the SSD to the corresponding folder. Then start the download again and it should reach 100% in no time. Worked for me a bunch of times. One thing that might (somehow not always) happens is that there are some battlefield registry entries missing. just google that and you will find tutorials for that. The game will tell you to install the DLCs, then just make those entries yourself.

4) You should be good to just launch steam from your HDD. It will install all missing files, all the games will still work from the HDD. Really easy to do that.

5) If you need help, just post again! ;-)

I'm not sure on how to do it but what i saw is that you only need more ssd space than what the HDD is using .

E.g Os + Battlefield 4 = 80gb on HHD, ssd only needs just above 80gb to clone the stuff

Every Battlefield after "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" is only on Origin. Along with that, he's only asking to put only Battlefield/s and Windows on the SSD.

I don't get what you want to tell me....sorry.

I know. I own all Battlefield titles, I just assumed he meant battlefield 4, or at least 3. Therefore he has Origin. Therefore he can start downloading it there and then pause it. Then you can just shove all you data in the Origin Games folder and then continue the download and Origin will just jump to like 99% and finish up.

I hope I kinda answered to your concerns....maybe...ish...
