So, when I upgraded my graphics card a few years ago, the motherboard along with it, I discovered they only have 1 analogue, 1 digital and HDMI ports.

My question is, how do you know if a monitor is Digital or Analogue?

I tried using a converter to get the signal to display firstly on my old monitor, and then on my LG W2253. Either the converter or the port doesn't work, or the monitor is Analogue, despite looking so shiny.

So, what's the deal? I get the impression the lower cost monitors are still analogue, and so two cannot be used with a modern graphics card? (At least, one of them won't be able to).

EDIT: I ask because these are a good deal right now, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to use two of them.

Digital = DVI ( Displayport and HDMI too)

Analog = VGA

VGA is blue.

I think HDMI and display port are digital and VGA is analogue but thats just a guess.    off topic but, what part of manchester you from? I've never seen anyone on the forum from Manchester before haha

So my question is, a VGA to DVI adapter is useless in making it work with a digital port? Therefore, I'm a moron. And I shouldn't buy VGA... damn, that increases the cost.
