My CPU temp

So I have an Asus ROG laptop running an i7-2630QM CPU @2.00 GHz that turbo boost to 3.5Ghz. When running games like Borderlands 2 at ultra. My CPU temperature is 80-85 degrees Celsius when running games on ultra-detail. I know these chips are rated for like 100 C but is it ok to push my hardware that hard? Should I just move the game settings to medium? Whats the best way to improve cooling? (It has clear and cool air to intake and the exhaust is clear as well.)

Its normally on my desk so the whole lap thing is not a problem, and I have seen some laptop cooling pad's but are they really that effective?
