Need a new lappy

SirRoderick

Right so my old Asus lappy melted down today with repeated bluescreens, it's a couple years old and due for a replacement anyway so I'm looking for a totally new one. Love to hear some suggestions based off of my needs.

Primarily I need t to be a good, solid working desktop replacement for work, meaning I will be planting it down on a desk and occasionally move it to a different desk or put it in my car. Portability is not a primary concern because of that, although it's always nice if it isn't a metric ton in weight :P

I would be using it mostly for remote network admin, server maintenance etc as well as some more hardware intense tasks that also need a good amount of screen real estate. So imma put down a minimum of 15.6inch for screen size with 1080p resolution, 17inch is fine as well. Gaming is not a main concern but it would be nice if I could use it as a machine to play some games over LAN with my friends, so at least a decent graphics chip is a big plus

Budget wise I'm not entirely decided yet, gonna have at least 1000 Euros to spend and looking closer to 1500. It's flexible I'd say.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Asus G750JS.

Although they're a little on the heavier side.
But kick some ass and looks sleek.

If portability really isn't a major concern, the Asus G750 series is nice because of the great cooling it has. At your price range though, I'd think it'd have to be the G750JM which includes the 860M. Going for more budget-oriented brands like Clevo or Gigabyte might be able to get you a 870M, but if gaming isn't your real focus, the G750JM might be a good choice.
