I'm planning on a 3 screen 1440p setup with Dell U2713HM monitors. My budget for graphics cards is £900 so I'm thinking dual gtx 780 6gb cards. I'm wondering if this is the best option and if anyone can convince me otherwise. I don't really want to go the amd route. I'm running a 4770k and an MSi Z87 G45. Going to also upgrade my power supply to an 850W.

you do know that three 1440P monitor resolutions is way above 4k in terms of pixel count

GTX780Ti even in SLi might have trouble pushing that high res let alone 780 6GBs

if it was three 1080P, it can be done but not 1440P

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I currently have a reference 780. So it's unrealistic with a sub £1000 budget? I've seen benchmarks of a single 6gb 780 at 1440p doing pretty well. I won't necessarily be running things at max settings?

if you want to run three 1440P monitors

you should be looking at least 3 GPUs, each GPU driving one 1440P monitors

but your board will have trouble supporting 3 way SLi config without choking the 3rd GPU

there is a reason why any build that uses 3 or 4 GPU uses the X79 platform

it because of the PCI-E lanes which the X79 has for 4 way GPU config
