Initially, YouTube's live-streaming Here

Does this mean we might see a new venue for the Linus Live stream?

I didn't know it was limited before, I mean I've never exactly seen it on small channels but it didn't really seem like a "special thing" only for "Select partners".

That said, limiting it at all is a terrible idea and I've heard it's not as good as dedicated sites like Twitch. I don't really see any reason for ANYONE to change over to YouTube, and with the 1000 subscriber requirement I bet a lot of the potential users would already be using a different streaming service before they had the option.

well from the little experimenting ive done with twitch/xsplit its not the most intuitive process.

Well I do get that impression from, say, Linus' streams... But on the other hand, I don't see the YouTube version as being any different; if you've already figured out what setup mostly works with Twitch, why would you try the YouTube streaming and have to start all over again?

Short answer? I feel his youtube "partners" would be much happier.

Reported @ Engadget Here

IIRC Linus had used YouTube streaming for the first couple of livestreams, but then switched over to twitch because YouTube was quite unreliable.
