OMFG! oh yes! The soap water eliminated the sickyness! I'll leave it dry completely (just in case it hasn't already) and hope that it's still working after all this torture. Horror story has a thrilling grand finale...

I spilled a cup of coffee (with cream) on my old acer laptop a few years ago.  It was the first time I took a laptop apart.  Ive had it apart multiple times since then, and it's now sitting on my desk running Linux.  I can kinda thank that event for giving me the confidence to build my first computer.
