Hey everyone, I've been looking for a new graphics card for my system but i don't know what  to choose.

My system specs are:

Cpu: I7-4790

Cooler: Corsair H100i

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero

Memory: Corsair Vengence Pro 16GB

Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD

              Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

Tower: Corsair 750D

PSU: Corsair HX750W

I have $1,000 to spend on the GPU but i doubt I will have to spend that much, I plan on buying one now with intentions of buying a second for SLI or CrossFireX later on.

What would be the best choice for my build without spending more than I need to.

$1000 on a GPU? Well, you could just grab 2 GTX 780 Ti's or 2 R9 290X's. If not, then maybe a Titan or R9 295X2, both of which are about $1.5K, I think.

| CPU: An abacus | Motherboard: Tin foil | RAM: 2 Popsicle sticks | GPU: Virtual Boy | Case: Cardboard box | Storage: Cardboard | PSU: 3... Er... Make that 2 hamsters | Display(s): Broken glass | Cooling: Brawndo | Keyboard: More cardboard | Mouse: Jerry | Sound: 2 Cans of SpaghettiO's |

Go with a single ASUS GTX 780Ti DCUII http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSY1RVC and SLI in the future.

I've got one now and can run anything max resolution at 1080p in 3D.

Cooler Master HAF XB EVO, ASUS Maximus VII Hero, i7-4790K @ 4.5GHz, Corsair H100i, EVGA GTX 980Ti SC, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X8GB 1866Mhz CL9, 2X Crucial M500 960GB, EVGA SuperNOVA 1050 GS, ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q w/ nVidia 3D Vision 2

the gpu choice depends on the monitor you gonna use, you will need to tell us

4K is pretty much everyone dreams to have but prepare to pay up to 4 grand for multi gpu setups.

1440P or 1600P Ultra are resolutions which will stress single GPU setups

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I have a BenQ 24" 1080p monitor, I'll be getting 2 more later on for a  triple monitor setup.

are they the gaming 144Hz series models?

the 290 may be overkill for a single monitor

but when you are going multi monitor setups and to sustain above 60Hz you will need all the GPU horsepower and VRAM you can get

my only concern is the PSU you have now might just be enough for the 290s but may be too close without any headroom
