R.I.P ipad ?

Had my ipad 2 for a while now mostly my family use it i hate apple but a while back the original charger decided to give up so we bought a new charger from ebay this was a mistake the charger blow up in spectacular fashion (pic below) the ipad was only at 73% charger when it blow up, the ipad contiunted to work untill we tryed to charger it again anyone got any ideas or is it a new ipad time ?

 

The plug went flying across the room only stopping when it hit the oppsite wall was loud and bright me and my dad were in the room at the time just watching football.

I thought Apple devices could somehow detect in the charger is unofficial and somehow refuse to charge under such circumstances, my Iphone will not charge unless its plugged in via an official charger anyway.

If its for a Apple device buy Apple. If you buy any china brand that says Apple don't buy make sure its legit 99% of the time Apple copies are very very low quality and have no safeties at all.

Yah it was my brother who bought it but they do say apple ipad charger they dont say its fake but who wold when ur trying to sell stuff
