Recently i have noticed  newer games  such as Wildstar or Star Citizen are far too demanding for my rig:

i5 2500k @stock settings

Asus DcuII gtx 570 @ stock settings

8gb ddr3 ram

650W Psu

Gigabyte GA-z68x-UD3h-B3 motherboard

I was just looking for an upgrade that makes sense.

I came up with 2 options:

1. Buy a i5 4670k and an asus z87-A board.

This would cost me around $300 due to Microcenters epic discounts.

2. Buy a Msi GTX 770 Twin Frozr card for around $300 from Newegg.

Which of theses makes more sense if I am looking for a $300 upgrade to my computer?

I want to upgrade too but i already have some pretty new gear so perhaps it's just me falling for the new PC parts. However you on the other hand have a 560 i mean its not that old but a 770 is a pretty good choice as it will give you better performance than an CPU upgrade (also easier to install IMO)

P.S I'm only a tech noob so you might wanna ask someone just in case the 770 will bottle neck the i5.

Upgrade your GPU first, that will give you the biggest performance boost :D And 770 for 300$ is a great deal :D

Definitely Gpu , Slick i believe still uses his 2500k .

If i'm not mistaken, Slick uses i7 2600k O.o
