If the switch itself is broken you can purchase a new one from any PC retail store. If there is a fault in wiring... it is as easy as looking in the case's manual(provided in box or website) and taping the right wire to the right spot(may involve stripping and tugging of wire).

how do you know if its the switch or the wire?

Open the case and remove the front cover of your PC. If you see any loose dangling wires... its the wire. If you do not hear or feel a "click" when you press the button(and it does not come back to its position), its the switch.

I cant take off the front case on my case.. what do i do now.

I can just take the side off and i believe it works. i dont hear any clicking either

If it works ~ then check the wiring. If the wiring is damaged or not attached to the switch, it won't work. If you still can't figure it out, ask someone handy to help you out.
