Windows 8.1 pro External Harddrive problems

Hello 

 

(Im not a native English speaker, so be prepared for misspellings and bad grammar :)  )

I recently bought a new Samsung 840 EVO 120gb SSD and and made a fresh install of windows 8.1 on it.
But for some reason i cant find my external harddrive in either Windows File Explorer or in Windows Disk Managment when i boot from the SSD.
The HHD is not formatted and it still has its own copy of Windows8.1 on it, and I can boot from it using UEFI. When i boot from the HHD i can acess my SSD storage.
I have no idea why, is this because the HHD uses UEFI boot? 

If anyone could help me with this id be very happy.
