Hello Guys once again.

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right section to post at, but I'll try anyways... Don't slap me down completely, I'm still quite new to this forum, haha :D

So yearh. As I'm buying a new rig right here, I'm looking for the best performance possible for Arma 3.

Budget doesn't matter, but I want to hear you guys opinion on what's the best hardware for Arma 3 would be, so I can get the highest FPS possible.

Thank you.

since arma games have bad optimization go with atleast and i5 and 770 or 780. or if budget really doesnt matter go with 4930k with 2x 780ti's.

As I'm thinking a little ahead, how would a 4790k and gtx 780 ti matrix from Asus be ?

Well it would be good but i don't see the i7-4790k being that needed.

I get 75 fps with my specs in Arma 3 on the highest settings. Frames depends a lot on the server too but on a good server i get around 75fps

As I'm playing on a mod where I get about 25-40 FPS on the lowest, and 70 while in arma 3 normal w/o any mods on lowest, would that improve? As I've seen a person on the mod with 4960k having 70-90 FPS on the higehst setting.

To be honest, i'm pretty sure you won't see much difference between an i5 & i7. I have a friend with the same gpu and a shitty cpu (amd) and he get's around 50-60fps.

So which kind of CPU would you recommand for the best performance for arma, and which GPU?

It's like you said earlier, If you have the money get an i7 but if you're on somekind of budget get an i5. On the GPU side i would probably go 2x GTX 780 6GB version, i would say it has a better price to performance than the 780 Ti.

As a gtx 780 6gb costs 4555 DKK and the gtx 780 ti matrix "only" costs 5307 DKK, I would't be able to get 2x gtx 780 6gb's.

Woah, i didn't know the prices was that high. two 780 3gb should suffice then. I see the cheapest one on komplett.dk is 3279,- ASUS DCII 780

That's true, eventually I might either do sli gtx 780 or gtx 780 ti.

But I got this sick idea that a Asus Maximus VII Formula with the thermal armor and the ROG logo, put together with the gtx 780 ti matrix, which also has a ROG logo, would look insane. And maybe in a few months, I might aswell go SLI of those 2.

But for the CPU, either the new 4790k or 4690k.

Good choice :)

It's important to follow the color scheme of the builds! :D

This will be my eventually build, once everything is released.

Also I could't find any red sleeved cables.

You already ordered it? :o

You should make a build log of this when you've got all the parts! :D

Sadly I havn't ordered it :(

As you can see, I put in the Maximus VI Formula, the z87, and not the newest one, VII forumlar which is z97, as it's not in the shops yet :(

And some of the parts first gets out 7th of July, and as the motherboard hasn't been published yet, I think it wont be untill August.. :( But once it's out, You'll bet you get a pic through the progress of building it!
