and so i'm wondering... what is the difference between 4770k and 4790k?

the only ones i can think of is a better thermal paste and "better capasitors"

You mean "4770K" right? Because uhhh..... 7440K will much better than the 4790K no doubt but not sure if they will even make a 7440K version in the future. It could be called something else by then probably.

Erm the 4970K overclocks better, and Z97 brings on M.2 NGFF support.
