Need some help...

DarrenP

As many of you likely know when it comes to PSU calculations, and what i'll need to run my system, I suck.

So what i want to know is can i run the following on my Corsair HX1050 80+ Gold PSU?

3770K @ 5Ghz 1.344V

MSI Mpower

4 sticks of RAM

AMD Radeon 7990

ASUS 7970 DCUII

2 HDD's

1 SSD

8 Corsair SP120's

Fan controller

and two dvd drives?

I just don't want to blow up anything... Y'know?

Thanks guys.

Could probably run 3 7970s overclocked balls to the walls without worrying about anything blowing up in the next 5 years..

I think you're all set, bro. That PSU is overkill.

Edit: Although, since you're using a high end HX power supply, it'll run mostly in silent mode regardless of what you're doing. Guess that's a plus.

No problem at all. You'd be using about 900 to 950W of power at most, after overclocking.

Desktop: Intel Core i7-5820K, Corsair H115i, Asus X99-Deluxe/USB 3.1, G.Skill Ripjaws4 32GB 2800MHz CL16, Zotac RTX 3070, Samsung 950 Pro 512GB in Angelbird Wings PX1, Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, 5*Seagate 12TB, Cooler Master V1200, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, Windows 10 Pro. Phillips 328P6VUBREB, Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown, Logitech G502 X Plus, Sennheiser HD700.

AYANEO 2S: AMD 7800U, 32GB 7500MHz, 2TB WD SN850X. Windows 11.

You have a 5GHz capable Ivy Bridge and you haven't visited the Cinebench overclocking thread? Go there now! So far I'm the only one who's managed 5GHz on Z77, I managed 5.1GHz on a H100i. :P

CPU: 5930K @ 4.5GHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme edition @ 1503MHz/7400MHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Dom Plat @ 2667MHz CAS 13 | Motherboard: Asus X99 Sabertooth | Boot Drive: 400GB Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD | PSU: Corsair HX1000i | Monitor: Dell U2713HM 1440p monitor

Got a picture of this monstrosity? :P

7990 is at the post office right now, I'll have the 7970 within a month or so.

Yeah, i'm way to busy right now for overclocking and playing around with benchmarks.
