Hey Guys! :D

I've been looking at GeForce GTX 780 Video Cards and noticed there is a "SuperClocked" and a "normal" version. The "SuperClocked" has better specs and is only a little bit more money. I'm just wondering which one I should buy and if I should buy the "SuperClocked".

Thanks!

EVGA's Superclocked editions are usually only $10 more, sometimes less. IMO it's worth it.

superclocked has very slight factory overclock. Making it a little faster, but not much more.

The big difference is the coolers. Not sure if you are looking at the ACX cooler or not though.

Perhaps you could link the two cards in question. But if the Superclocked is only a few dolars more than the normal and they do in fact have the same coolers on them, I would consider the SC version unless you have to save every last penny of yours.

if it is less than  20$ difference then go for it, it is stock overclocked so you can usually get it higher, especially on the evga acx one

Just go for a Gigabyte Windforce

Wow, that's unlike you. Shouldn't you be recommending a PowerColor PCS+ R9 290(X) so he can save money and still get an awesome card?  :D

OP could just be curious or uniformed. Don't always assume since it'll "make an ass of you and me".

What'd you do? Clean her PC or something and now she wants her PC to be like it was before?

Thing is, the superclocked editions give you an overclock that you may be able to achieve anyways with a normal card, so I don't think it's worth it. Very little difference though.

Sometimes I see them at the same price or the Superclocked ones less than the normal ACX cards. Eh, get what's cheaper or functional.

Did you try the bathroom cabinets? Most people I know put first-aid stuff in the bathroom.

She claims that when I went on a camping trip for school it was on my required list and that she put them in. I consulted the list and it was not there. It also wasn't in the bag (i hadn't unpacked). she then went on a bitching spree and is threatening divorce and screaming at everyone

She ended up getting cotton swabs and surgeons tape

btw this was yesterday and shes still bitchin

Anyways OP get a powercolor PCS+ R9 290. Its better performance than the GTX 780 for a lot cheaper, and its quieter than EVGA and cooler than other R9 290s

What the hell? Aren't band-aids like $10? Why is she threatening divorce over you and band-aids? I thought this was something the spouse would be involved in, not children or freaking band-aids.

Anyway, GPUs in general always have factory-overclocked cards and better coolers and that can come in tiers like EVGA's ACX, Superclocked ACX, Dual FTW ACX, Dual Classified ACX, K|NGP|N, and Classified K|NGP|N. Usually, these are higher binned cards meaning that they can or will OC better than lower binned cards, however, that can be a luck of the draw where you can get a low binned card and OC it beyond a higher binned one.

shes freaky, i suspect shes an alcoholic, and supposedly she was cutting a lime when she cut her finger. I would be bitchy for 2 days if I cut myself in the finger with lime juice

Did a ton of lime juice go into her blood stream or something? Pain like a cut finger shouldn't last that long unless she sliced off her entire finger or part of it. I cut off a part of my finger and I didn't feel that much pain nor was a bitch for 2 days. Maybe she should start to meditate or something. Relax, but not with alcohol. Well, that was off-topic.

Superclocked cards are just factory overclocked and don't typically do or offer anything more than you could accomplish yourself with Precision or Afterburner or any other overclocking utility.  They are generally NOT binned meaning they don't usually offer any increase in your chances of winning the silicon lottery and are mostly unnecessary wastes of money IMO.  Of course if you can get one at the same price as the vanilla versions there are no reasons not to go with one but if there is any substantial price increase then you should generally skip the Superclocked models.  I only got the SC version of my Titan because at the time NE only allowed one per account so I got an SC and a Signature just to get around the buying limits...
