Hello there everyone! I am a budding YouTuber and a gamer like many of you out there. I currently use a laptop that no longer suits my needs as a gamer and an editor. So I decided to save up for an amazing system that has amazing gaming and editing power, along with silence optimization and cooling efficiency. When I make videos I would often hear the roar of my laptop's fan and the gameplay is usually laggy even without a recording system. So as you can very well tell I want an upgrade. I want nothing but the very best at my price point of around 2000-2200 dollars. You may say that that is quite a lot, however I believe my build reflects the fact that it would be well spent as I have taken hours of thought into each of the materials that I need. So check it out and tell me what you think! If you find anything you think could be changed for something better or if there is anything that I should add then tell me! Check it out here: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/EpicStarman/saved/ccJnTW

P.S. I know there is a Wireless Adapter, I need one because there is already a router in my house

P.P.S I took some advice from some guys on other Tech sites so I hope you like this improved version!

P.P.S I took some advice from some guys on other Tech sites so I hope you like this improved version!

Wired connection is better in everyway, you can just buy a cable to connect your router to your PC. but if you want wireless adapter can work as well...

Base on what you are describing that you are doing, you dont need an i7 4770k, a i5 4670k is already more than enough. and the new i5 4690k is about to come out in 1-2 weeks so wait for that

The mobo is overprice and overkill, get something like a MSI Z97 G45 Gaming Mobo instead.

I can kinda say the same for the SSD since games wont benefit much from running on SSD so usually I'd take a 120GB SSD instead, but you have alot of budget so... why not?

You dont need 4 additional fans like that. The first 2 for push pull with H100i is understandable, but your case stock fans should already be enough.

With that budget, a 780+ is a must

So...

The i5 4690k is coming in a few weeks, so wait for it. I choose a 4670k here because PCPARTPICKER dont have the 4690k yet, but the price of it will be same as 4670k.

I also change the monitor to something abit bigger, if you dont like it then you can change back to the one you choose.

Also you got a Razer mousepad but you choose Logitech and Corsair Keyboard and mouse instead? not that's there's any problem but it just kinda weird to me :P but those kind of things is up to the user preference so...~ Also this build is black/red theme

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log

I can't use wired connection unfortunately because I would have to run it up stairs. I picked the CPU and GPU for a specific reason, being the fact that I want to keep the extreme workload power of the i7 processor and also have reasonably amazing gaming well within my budget, which the 770 offered. Because of that I had more room for a motherboard that would work amazingly and that is why I have switched to the Asus motherboard. The reason I have an SSD is to be able to boot games and the OS much faster than a hard drive would, the fans are added for extra silence and cooling optimization and I didn't pick everything to color match, just to be able to be a workhorse. Oh, and the monitor will be just enough for me, I currently use a 17" laptop screen so 24" will be a welcome sight.

Actually... the i7 4770k isnt that much different from the i5 4670k, i7 have hyperthreading but that's about it, and not many program can benefit from that, usually only heavy rendering/3D modeling etc can utilized that. everything else from the i5 is the same, with the stock clock speed of the 4670k is 0.1Ghz lower than the 4770k, but the new i5 4690k have the same clock speed as the i7 4770k, still no HyperThreading though. It wont contributed to gaming, GPU on  the other hand do, so downgrade the CPU to 4690k and GPU up to 780 is the right choice.

The MSI Z97 G45 Gaming will perform just as good as the ASUS Maximus,  and that Maximus have the Z87 chipset -> it cant run the new i5 4690k.

Both of them only support up to 2 ways SLI and the Maximus have 8 6Gb/s SAtA port while the G45 have 6, but with your current setup you use only 3 slot so...~ unless you have more than 6 SSD+HDD then Maximus dont benefit you, and even then you have the GD65 from MSI which is still cheaper.

Ofc I know why you need a SSD in a system nowaday. I just say that 250GB isnt nessecary since games dont benefit much from being run on SSD, only the load time will be quicker but it's about 2-5 secs quicker, on the extreme case like BF4 it's 20 secs quicker but other than that during gameplay it's the same. So usually I only put the OS + a very few games on the SSD, hench I only need 120GB, but since you have large budget I still keep that 250GB SSD for you :P

IDK about you but more fans just equal more noise, and it's not like you have spaces and fan's holes to install that much fans without looking kinda ugly though, but if you really dont care about color scheme then...~

My bad, I meant the Z97 Maximus VII Hero. Hyper-threading will allow me to pull off multiple tasks at a time. For example, I feel like watching a YouTube video during the time it takes my new video to render. If the rendering is very heavy hyper threading will allow me to do small simple tasks in the background such as watching that YouTube video. It will actually possibly help in future games that are intensive on the CPU, so in a sense I am futureproofing while maintaining that workhorse-ness

I know what HT can archive, but like I said base on what you said you are doing I dont think you need one though, watching Youtube video the same time as rendering a youtube video shouldnt even stretch the 4670k to it limit, let alone the 4690k. And for games that maybe true but I kinda doubt it, but I can see your point. But if that's the case you better go with a i7 4790k instead, the gain from 4690k over the 4670k isnt much but the gain from 4790k over 4770k is very noticeable.
