Hey everyone

So i planning on buying the Ugreen NASycn Dh2300 i got a couple of question before commiting to one

1.so i am planning on buying 2 4tb hard drives and i am abit confused would i get 8tb or just 4tb because i heard some people say 2 hard drive would only give you one of the storage

2. I don't have my own wifi because i live in like a shared apartment and i was wondering what if i buy my own router/wifi extender and connect it to the wifi would that be okay. Like do other people be able to look at my stuff even if i don't share access to them?

Either, depending on how you set them up.

In a "stripe", your data is distributed across both drives. You get the total of their capacity, with the caveat that you lose all your data if one of the drives fails.

In a "mirror", your data is written to both drives. You only get the capacity of one drive, but if either drive fails your data is still accessible.

It will probablywork, but it's not ideal. Double NAT confuses things.

Set passwords on your stuff.

Plex and Jellyfin both let you host your own streaming service using media files you locally host on your NAS.

Plex also gives you easy access to a ton of cable-TV-style linear FAST channels.
