Hi guys, I need some opinions regarding my motherboard.

I’m using a Colorful Battle-AX B450M-K M.2 V14 and recently some of the USB ports have been acting weird.

Symptoms:

  • Certain USB ports make my keyboard constantly disconnect/reconnect (keyboard lights flicker)
  • Wireless devices using USB dongles (mouse/controller) are detected, but won’t properly connect/work
  • Wired devices mostly still work
  • Wireless headset still works normally

I’m trying to figure out whether this is more likely:

  • motherboard USB/controller issue
    or
  • PSU related

PSU:
Cooler Master MWE Gold 650W V3

I also had a few Kernel-Power 41 events before, so I’m not sure if everything is related.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?image.png.4aac85c58686d159e1fa5b13d9dff09e.pngimage.png.9e912dbb46634a28bd79ea7700ad95b0.png

Typical ayymd cpu/chipset issues. These can be reduced by increasing VSOC Voltage (I recommend 1.1v for Zen2/Zen3), VDDP (0.95v for Zen2/Zen3) VDDG CCD/IOD (1.05v for Zen2/Zen3)

Check with ZenTimings or Hwinfo afterwards.

One thing you can try to fix USB issues, not guaranteed to work.

In device manager, turning off any power saving options for USB, and having same thing turned off in power settings if not already.

In this stack:

Disable "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power".

Same in advanced power plan settings, disable "selective USB suspend setting".

  • Might not fix your problem, but worth a try

Another thing you should have software wise, is recent BIOS and Chipset drivers.

It should be under AMD Overclocking menu, I am not familiar with that motherboard so I cant point you to exact location. Wander around.
