Steamos is immutable so i wanna make my own. There is cachy handheld version but it doesnt let you use less than 2 gigs for boot partition and i dont like that attitude why are we using linux man. So i installed endeavor os on my rog ally and using cachy kernel, I wanna boot into gamescope basically. I get this to work but then switch to desktop button doesnt work or it redirects to login screen or some stuff. It has been obnoxious to use llms, do you know of any guides i can follow or smt? Most guides are not for handhelds, I dont just wanna run gamescope i wanna log out of kde and llms think they know it but they dont know shit. At this point i can act like an llm with no obligation of truth xd. There are some dudes on yt that wrote some scripts but those are more like a last resort, id like some walkthroughs or suggestions at least.

 

Also i like debian the most but llm says its bad for rog ally what do you think? 

 

And bazzite was pretty good too but as i said i dont want an immutable distro. Nobara wasnt running well and its bloated too.

I know it might not be secure, yeah vibecoding is cool but we shouldnt do smt unless we understand it and etc. thx but these disclaimers get old quick. maybe we shall be reminded frequently for we are stupid but i dont work at a nuclear powerplant.

Can't you just turn on autologin?

i do but its not that simple, if you take a look at chris tituses vid you can see even he has lots of difficulty setting it up..

it looks like bazzite modifies a drop-in sddm config on the fly setting the default session and enabling autologin then restarting sddm.

Try steal that Bazzite scripts Nayr posted and manually declare the image name as kinoite since you're on KDE Plasma. 
I don't use greeter/login and not on KDE so the one i used is simpler.

i can drop kde if it will make things simpler and i dont wanna use login but apparently you kinda have to, to manage 2 different sessions?

@xAcid9 @Nayr438 so i got some stuff working but i wonder if i can eliminate the login manager completely since we dont have a built in keyboard i dont wanna type password and stuff

I suggest keep the login, set auto login and no screen locking. 

 

Without greeter the system will drop you straight to TTY and you'll still need to login unless you set auto login for TTY.

i cant get the autologin to work correctly, it doesnt ask for password initially but when i wanna change sessions it does

How you setup everything? You change session by logging out?

ngl gemini did most of the work, i just run steamos-session-select and from gamescope i hit switch to desktop
