MOBO BIOS update

Hello,

 

this week I've bought a Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite mATX board and I want to ask about BIOS updating.

I am planning on getting 7800x3D CPU and while I have built a custom PC before, I never had to update BIOS to get it working. I do know that for updating it I either have to have a specifially named file with the bios on the usb connected to its specific port or to do it through the BIOS itself to update. 

 

However is it truly necessary to do so to even make it work? I am certainly fine reading through articles to learn stuff and obviously read through the mobo manual itself, but is there anything critical to know before actually doing the update to know?

Your mobo should support that cpu by default (I'd still update at some point though)

(Nothing critical to my knowledge)

It will work out of the box, that CPU was supported from the first BIOS version
