Hello everyone,

Budget (including currency): around 2000

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly for Gaming/Sim-Racing. It will be used for games like ACC, IRacing, Rainbow Six Siege, etc.

Other details:

MB: MSI B850 Gaming Plus WIFI

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

SSD: Lexar NM790 2TB

GPU: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9070 XT

RAM: Goodram IRDM Black/Silver 32GB Kit (DDR5-6000, CL30) or G.Skil Flare X5 2x16GB 6000MTs CL30 DDR5 RAM

Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 36

PSU: FSP VITA GM 850W ATX 3.1

Case: Phanteks XT Pro Ultra

I wanted to ask, since I don't know much about PCs myself, whether this build would be good or if there are better options. The PC should run well and stable at 144+ FPS, especially for sim racing. I'm still having problems with the RAM in particular, as I don't know exactly what offers the best value for money at the current RAM prices...
Thank you in advance for your help!

There's nothing that stands out to me as obviously wrong. You might be able to tweak a few things for slightly better performance or price but overall it looks good.

For example:

On the CPU cooler, you could spend a few euros more to get one of the Thermalright dual-tower coolers like the Peerless Assassin. The Freezer 36 is a good cooler that does have 2 fans, but it only has a single heatsink tower and therefore probably won't be quite as good as a true dual-tower design like the PA120. Don't get me wrong, the Freezer 36 would still be totally fine for your build, it's just that the PA120 is a bit better and only a couple euros more expensive.

Same with the GPU - you could get the Gigabyte Gaming OC 9070 XT for about 20 euros less and it should perform the same.

It's good. Also imo price too as in my country that would cost more so.

Thanks a lot for the help and reply!

Just one question, which RAM should I choose? The Goodram is “only” 30 Euros cheaper, but if I've researched correctly, the G.Skil is better suited for AMD, or am I mistaken?

Honestly I have no fucking idea. Goodram isn't a brand I'm very familiar with but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. RAM is one of those products where what really matters is not the name on the side of the stick but rather the actual manufacturer of the RAM modules themselves (Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix) and which particular type of modules they are using. And even within a particular brand and model name (i.e. "G. Skill Trident") you can have different models that use different modules.

With the information given I would personally probably go with the G. Skill simply because I dunno anything about Goodram and what they are using, but it honestly might not matter.

Second that. I was just going to write a reply, because I happen to have the G.skill kit in the 96GB version (bought that in the first half of 2025 just before the RAMpocalypse began). As a matter of fact it was recommended to me here. Besides I've read lots of good about G.skill, so I'd also recommend the G.skill one (even though it's half the size of the other pair).

Okay, then I think I'll go with the G.skill.

Thanks for the help 🙂

Yeah as other stated. One thing you can do is check on site of said motherboard their memory support list, so called Memory Qualified Vendor List (QVL) to check if or which memory kit is listed there as supported EXPO profile so you can be 100% for those RAM speeds to be working.
