Ram

36-36-36-96 are the numbers for that flare x5. In the description on microcenter it also says single channel. I would like to know what that means as well!
The other is Corsair Vengeance 16gb DDR5 5600mhz 40-40-40-77
I don't know what the 40-40-40-77 means.
The motherboard is
- AMD B650E
- AMD AM5 Ryzen Processors
- 256GB Dual Channel 4 x 288pin DIMM Support
I'm trying to take advantage of Microcenter bundle with Motherboard, Cpu and the ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading, I'm completely new to all of this
the 36 or 40 is the CAS Latency.
It's basically how quick the RAM is getting to the first data bit from being told to go get it. The 5600 or 6000 is the throughput speed.
Think an athlete jumping off the starting blocks vs his top run speed.
The 6000CL36 Flare X5 kit is the exact same ones I have. With it being single channel, it means it can only handle one command at time? Either way, you need 2x sticks of it to be true dual channel. Which you can always buy another anytime and add it.
That's a good starter bundle from MC. I'd grab another of the Flare X5 sticks at some point if you get it. Do not get the Corsair RAM.
