Hi, I got my win 8 key off of /r/softwareswap and made a USB aboot drive and downloaded that on my PC. I am building a rig for my friend and was wondering if I could use the exact same boot drive I used on his rig, or would I have to buy another key off someone? thanks in advance

Same drive yes but you would still have to buy another key if you want legal widows. That is how it works. If you want an item twice, you have to pay twice.

IDk the exact rules on this forum, whether or not we can talk about that stuff but if I didn't buy another one, hypothetically, It would be just as the first time I used it?

You can install Windows 8, but you will need a preliminary product key in order to get the installation going. Those keys are universal and easy to find. Please not that that key does not activate Windows . When it is installed you will have to do that separately.

You won't be able to use the same Key twice. The next copy will be a trial version of Windows and will need activating to get full functionality out of it, deactivating your own copy in the process.

Just to be 100%, I need a new key but I do not need to create a new boot drive? I can just plug in my existing boot drive and put in a new key to activate it?
