my bro made me a pc 5 years ago and its badly due to an update, hes in japanes backcountry rn so i cant ask him.

so ive got a potential deal on my hands for an Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB for 360€ heard this card is pretty good for 1440p and genereally surpassing the 5070ti
and Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6400MHz  for 300€
both used
i know the prices are absurd rn, is this a no brainer?
also the sells person both seem legit.
i want to play on 1440p (my 1050ti is currently suffering lol)
games like cyberpunk, the new marathon coming in march, destiny 2 and more  good lookin games hopefully at  around 100fps with higher setttings

i havent decided on a cpu and motherboard yet, maybe an 650b from msi? no clue what cpu tbh

Apreciate the feedback!

Do you mean 9060XT 16GB?  That's a very low price for a 9070 XT.  Just clarifying.

If you go AMD CPU, that RAM should be just fine.

What is your total budget?  9600X thru 9800X3D are all valid, just depends what you can afford and justify.

I do have to question owning a 1440p monitor with a 1050Ti though, did you have an upgrade path in mind?  If so, what was it?

yup it indeed is a rx 9070 xt!  he showed me his invoice he got for it.

my total would be around 1.2k but considering the gpu only set me back 360 i might need less,

well i mostly bought a 1440p 170hz monitor after my old one died, (shitty 60hz thing) to have a good monitor when i do finally upgrade, not really much more in mind.
and well yeah the fps sucked ass i got used to 30-50 in destiny 2 on higher settings (my most played game)

Regardless, grab that 9070XT for 360 ASAP, provided it works just fine.  it should, otherwise he'd RMA it and not sell it.

For 1440p with that GPU I'd look at the 9600X or 7700X, 191 and 219 respectively.  Depends if you want 6 or 8 cores.  I'd probably grab the 9700X at 259 but that's me, I would want 8 cores, so either the 7700X or 9700X if you can pony up for it.

Something like this, as I like Gigabyte motherboards a lot... so use this as a baseline maybe.

You're going to have trouble staying at 1.2k though, especially with that RAM jacking prices up.  It's a great deal but still 200 more than we'd recommend if this was normal times (32GB for under 100 was normal).  You still have storage, case, PSU and CPU cooler to get.  You're at 960 if you take the cheaper option, at minimum.

i grabed the 9070tx! he said he only ran it for 2 months and worked fine, (pray that it actually does)
i did actually have the 9700x/9600x in mind and i am informing myself about it rn so itll probably be my pic.
well i do still have storage and case/ some cooling (will need more probably)  from my old pc so i save a good 300€ there !

im sure ill find some nice cheap used maybe even 64gig ddr5 ram, plenty of offers and i just need to be patient 😄

thanks for the recommendations!
also would you think a 750watt psu is enough? with the 9070xt having power spikes up to 420watt (source linus techtipps)

It is no brainer if you actually want and need 64GB of RAM, that's bit absurd amount

France 64GB RAM price, and the cheapest option is through Amazon so potentially sold out.

5070Ti is faster, but 9070 XT is almost same performance that you won't really notice, so if it's cheaper 9070 XT is always better considering budget

Yeah below 100€ used to cost for 32GB, so anything below 140€ is bargain

It's a damn solid chip. I only replaced mine when the 7800x3d dropped to $299 at microcenter last year.

7xxx is a big jump from 5xxx, but 9xxx isn't that much over 7xxx
