I have been having this problem for a month or two now where Steam will say no connection but i can watch videos and talk in discord no problem!

This issue will also disconnect me from game servers across multiple games.

Sometimes I have zero issue and other times i can do everything the internet says and restart both my computer and router. I have talked to my ISP (Xfinity) and they have run every check they have and see no problems.

any ideas are helpful

What are your system specs?

What router? What modem? Have you tried bridge mode?

Tbh I think it's something your isp is doing but that is still crucial info in order to possibly find a fix.

Tbh I think it's something your isp is doing but that is still crucial info in order to possibly find a fix.

System Specs:

CPU - Intel Core i7-9700F

MOBO - Asus Prime Z390-A

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

RAM - Corsair 16GB, DDR4

PS - Corsair 750W (I think, cant remember the model and dont feel like taking it out rn)

Router and modem are all in one from Xfinity (not my preferance but it was a considerable amount cheaper on my bill to get theirs with the contract)

I agree that it is probably my ISP but Xfinity is the worst and would rather point fingers than try to help.

I had connection issues with steam years ago, and I believe my eventual fix was to launch steam in administrator mode. Still no idea why that mattered but worth a quick shot.

yeah that was the second thing i tried after just closing steam and reopening

Ya well I'm trying to help and apparently it's best to use your own modem/router possibly in bridgemode idk which would work but I'd look into that if I was you ... Me I'm using a none verified by ISP Fritzbox Modemrouter since over 20 years now so I don't really know what the kids use nowadays! 😂

(Btw I got it for free too!)
