This may sound like a noob question, but I'm looking to buy a 780ti

However, there are two 780ti that i have found:

EVGA 780TI

EVGA 780TI Super clocked

Does anyone know what the difference is as the super clocked version is around £30-50 cheaper the the original version

The super clocked simply has a higher boost clock out of the box. You should get that, especially since it's cheaper.

@Cacao oh ok cheers, will you still be able to overclock the super clocked card though?

Of course, don't expect it to have too much headroom left though.

How much you'll be able to overclock It depends on how they've binned the SC edition. In the past they were always slightly higher binned than reference cards. If that's still correct, then you'll get some nice numbers out of it.

CPU: 5930K @ 4.5GHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme edition @ 1503MHz/7400MHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Dom Plat @ 2667MHz CAS 13 | Motherboard: Asus X99 Sabertooth | Boot Drive: 400GB Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD | PSU: Corsair HX1000i | Monitor: Dell U2713HM 1440p monitor

@Cacao So if i was to overclock both cards as much as i could, do you know which one will be better? or if it will even be noticeable. Thanks for the feedback

Well you can't say, it's really up to luck. Each individual GPU overclocks differently. With the super clocked you're guaranteed a minimum of whatever that extra boost clock is, and usually you can go a bit further, but not much. With the stock cards you're not garanteed anything, so it could or could not go beyond the super clocked.

Pretty much if you buy one lottery card you have a 100% chance of winning 50$ and maybe slightly more if you're lucky. With the other one you can win anywhere from 10-100$ :D

They would be exactly the same in theory (provided you have good luck). The chip is the same, it just comes at a higher stock clock in the sc version. if you oc to the absolute limit you should see no difference between the two.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
