can i undervolt ?

Go to solution Solved by leclod,

You've got an MSI board so I('d) use the cpu lite load mode

It's a simple tool, reduce the mode until the system isn't stable.

(I've reduced from mode 18 to mode 10)

You're in the right place in the BIOS. It's now a question of how you want to undervolt.

For Intel, I would typically use a voltage offset. So you'd set your Core Voltage Offset Mode to Negative and then give it an offset amount, like 50mv.

How much of an offset you can do is silicon dependent. Some CPUs can handle a -100mv offset. Some might only be stable with a -10mv offset.

For testing stability, I'd recommend OCCT. Proving stability with an undervolt can be tricky, but OCCT is a good starting point.

Specifically the “cpu” test and not “cpu+ram”

extreme variable

then 30mins to 2 hours of linpack

and spin the mouse around the screen a few times to while tests are running every now and then to interrupt the test and spike transients to make sure you don’t crash with voltage droop

- 4000 32gb ram

-4070ti super duper
