Abnormally High GPU Temperatures

Go to solution Solved by Cubit481,

All rpm's are between 1200-1500. The CPU fans are to 1500 and the chassis are a bit lower.

i think its fine...check ur gpu fan rpm also...and the antec one has not that good positive airflow...mount a fan on the side panel if u havent already have....

System specs:

i5-4670k with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

PNY GTX 770 OC

Asrock Extreme4 Z87

Samsung 840 Evo

Corsair CX750M 750 watt power supply

Latest bios and GPU drivers installed

Hey, everyone. My GPU used to hit around 56-58c under load until today when I tried installing another fan on the bottom of the case (and a variety of other locations). Strangely, it now maxes out under load at 71c, even with the fan removed and everything the way it was previously. I should mention this was all in a negative airflow. I'm at a loss to explain why my GPU pre-fan was 15-20c cooler than it is now. My idle temps are fine at 31c.

If I neglected to mention anything, please let me know, but otherwise thanks. You guys have all the answers.

your room hotter now? :P i mean below 60 under actual load is the strange thing, but the 70, thats the normal temp

It's possible that Speccy isn't the best source, but it's accurate to within a degree or two on my CPU temps. It's 9:00 here, and I have a window open, so ambient temps shouldn't be a problem.

Soooooooooooo 71C under load is still a fine number. It is actually what most GPU's hit under load. Marked Solved, ezpz bai

By under load, I mean BF3 with ultra settings and video streams (Youtube, Netlfix, etc, in the background.) I haven't actually benchmarked it yet, but it still strikes me as odd that the temps have gone up so much for seemingly no reason.

Alright, everyone seems to agree. I'll look into more on my own, but thanks, I'm not too worried anymore.

tbh I think it might've just been a bug in the sensor telling you temps. I've seen some video cards idle at like 45C so the fact that you were getting 56C playing bf3 on ultra.... Like I just don't think its possible xD. Had to have been a bug in the sensor/program.
