Hey guys, i've been considering a new relatively budget friendly build lately and wanted to know what you guys think.

I was considering using a cooler master HAF XB EVO--a cube case--because i like the form factor and the way it goes together.

Inside of it i would put a 4690k (Explained later) on a motherboard yet to be determined (I'm open to suggestions)

and alongside the 4690k i would have Radeon 7870s in crossfire

inb4 why no ram or power supply, this is just planning

Now for my questions as a noob to pc building, does this build make sense?

Will 2 7870s fit in that case?

What size power supply do you recommend?

and does this CPU and GPU combination make sense? I have use for a bit of an overkill processor, but i'm not sure how far is too far

Thanks in advance :)

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Why 2 7870s? Why not something like a R9 290?

A 4690K isn't overkill in my opinion, unless you are building a pc just to browse the internet :D  As for the 7870 CF, I would suggest going for a single card over 7870 cf. Maybe a R9 290 as suggested above, or even a R9 280X. If you are only gaming at 1080p then the 280X is a good buy.

As for power supply. For a single card setup you are looking at 500W or so. For a dual card setup I would say 750W+

I was initially thinking only getting the 7870s one at a time to save money and spread out the costs, but i'm definitely seeing the logic behind something like a 280x. And the 280x isn't that much more expensive...Thanks guys, you just helped me make up my incredibly indecisive mind a bit :)
