what res settings are you running is going to be the issue on length. 

4k 120htz 444 10bit? you will need fiber beyond 3m.

2k or 1080, 4k 120htz 422 8bit, copper is fine

anything under as long as the cable is good "should" run with copper. till again length becomes an issue

4k 60hz you should be fine at 7.5m
