During several of the conferences nvidia has been talking about things like 3d memory Unified memory Nv link and other technologies.... When will these be coming out and what impact will they have on gaming gpus and in general technology???

I tried googling but can't find anything, is it something like AMD have done with sending Xfire data over the PCIE bus rather than having a seperate connector for multiple gpus?

Essentially they're trying to do what AMD already does which is crossfire over pcie?

NV Link is Nvidia's implementation of the bridge-less multi-GPU protocol using a DMA engine. Both Hawaii (R9 290x R9 290) & Bonaire (R7 260X & 260) support this. AMD calls it XDMA (CrossfireX DMA).
As far as the implications go, it will improve multi-GPU scaling.

Yes but NV link is going to be revolutionary. It's supposed to replace the PCIe lanes for the SLIed cards so only the primary card needs a PCIe x16 slot

3D memory, when it becomes viable and a good mature tech

 

Unified, when NVLink comes, as it will reduce the bottleneck of PCIe

 

NVLink comes with pascal, which is the architecture after maxwell, so 10XX series
