I am going to build a new secondary computer for video editing, my budget is around 1500 usd.

Why not just have beefy PC that does everything?

I’ve got a machine right now, the specs are interesting I’ll explain.

I’ve got a 7800x3d, rx6600, 32 gigs of ram, and 2 tb of ssd storage.

the Rx 6600 is temporary while i wait for my 7900xtx to arrive and i am also waiting on my new aio, I used the lag 1700 platform as i could  buy an i3 12100f and pair it up with the rx6600 use the old air cooler and some ddr5 i have lying around with a 500 gig ssd from an optiplex. And i would buy a new psu and mobo and upgrade to this.

Another question is the i914900k still unstable?

why not use 7800x3D + 7900XTX as your video editing machine?

The answer about 13th/14th gen stability can't be 100% honest, but Intel claims they fixed it, so as long as you're on latest BIOS even frying the CPU after for some reason won't matter, because you'd still be within rights to get replacement/refund. Or in short it should be fixed just use latest BIOS.

Though my question would be, why even build second machine, when you could just video edit on 7800x3D?

It will have fast 8 core CPU, with assumingly fast RAM and 7900 XTX if it has any kind of encoder or something that could be used

Unless you're like super super professional where buying dedicated machine with 64GB RAM and entire second rig that focuses on editing sounds worth over just using your main machine?

Or if it's a matter of having things tidy and each in their own place you could just get like big and fast SSD and add that to your main PC and have that entire SSD for editing, or HDD or both even I guess.

Looks good. You could go AMD though, and maybe get a slightly better GPU, and save on the case and motherboard, and get CL30 RAM, which is better than CL32.

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers
