I went to canada computers 2 weeks ago to get a new computer built (the only things i included from my old pc were peripherals, monitor, hard drives and RTX 4070 Ti). I was originally going to get a Corsair AIO to cool the CPU. But the sales guy told me they need to be refilled and it they dont, they tend to fail and leak. I ended up getting a DeepCool ASSASSIN IV Premium instead (which is now regret since they didnt follow US sanctions against selling to russia). I keep my computer room air conditioned all the time (even in winter because heating makes it too hot) so the room temperature is around 26.11C to 26.67C (79F to 80F) at all times. I have hwinfo running all the time and when shaders compile or games eat up all resources, the Tdie temp reaches 33.11C (91.6F) and FPS drops.

Would a 420mm Corsair AIO really help that much? Should i try to get a refund on the air cooler and go for my original plan of AIO? Ive never done water cooling before, but on corsair website it says their AIO's are closed loop and the liquid never needs to be replaced. I dont know if thats sales hype or not though.

For those curious, here are the specs of the computer i had built:

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5RK)

Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro (Revision 1.0 because they couldnt get me 1.1)
CORSAIR RMX RM1000x

Fractal Design Meshify 3 XL Ambience Pro RGB (Light Tint)

And the recovered peripherals:

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070Ti

AudioQuest Dragonfly Black 1.5 (USB DAC)

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum

Logitech G203

Corsair SP2500 Speakers

Viewsonic XG2402

Crucial 500GB SSD, Crucial 1TB SSD, Crucial 4TB NVMe M.2, Western Digital Blue 2TB

Anyone play Abiotic Factor, Phasmophobia or Forewarned? Im looking to play those games and none of my friends have them or play them and im tired of public lobbies filled with toxic players. DM if you want to play together!

You don't need a 420mm AIO for a 9800X3D.  The Deepcool would have been fine, as would any cooler between it and the AIO.

Personally I would use either a Thermalright 360mm AIO or an Arctic Freezer III Pro 360mm.  First is cheapest and good, the other is one of the best AIO's on the market today.

Corsair makes PSU, screw all their other products.

Did you just post your CPU heats up to 33c?

I cool my own overclocked 9800X3D ( 5.6Ghz up from 5.2ghz stock ) with a DeepCool AK620..

This is my fan curve as well, its very mild.

Corsair AIOs do not need to be refilled. Whoever told you this has no idea what they are talking about. AIOs in general regardless of manufacturer are not designed to be refilled, they are sealed systems(there are one or two that can be but none of them are Corsairs). Typically if they are losing coolant, there is a defect, which would be an RMA or replacement level fix. Or by the time they have any sort of coolant issues with evaporation? You would have had it long enough it would just be a simple toss it and buy a new one.

Corsair AIOs also are pretty overpriced and prone to issues with software and quality. I've had several, and there are plenty of better cheaper alternatives in the AIO market.

The cooler you have should be plenty for the 9800X3D if you are seeing thermal throttling and overheating I'd go as far to say it likely isn't installed correctly, either the paste application or mounting pressure.

That's pretty confusing, CPU at 33C is idle and you don't say anything about gaming temps  but talk about FPS drops ?

Dunno which Deepcool cooler you have, if it's a big dual tower it'll be fine

AIOs are usually never refillable (with some exceptions), they last for 3-5 years and need to be replaced. Only custom loops have drain and fill ports to do that

And 2070Ti don't exist afaik, do you mean 2080Ti ?  As great as she was in her time, this old lady barely compete with a 5060 now...
