I plan on using the Apollo & Artemis streaming software on my new computer such that I can login from my laptop on campus.

I'm in the progress of setting everything up but I thought of something that might cause a problem and wondered if anyone here had a solution.

I bought a smart plug (4000 watt) to be able to turn on my computer from distance using an app on my phone. Since WoL required too much work to get working I was not willing to do.

But haven't thought further than this, how will I be able to log into my computer using this remote connection software? (I want some security, so autologon or no password are not an option)

Does Apollo start running as a service before I authenticate? If yes, I have another problem that I plan on using tailscale VPN to form (more) secure connections. And this has to be running before the Apollo service is started.

I could use another remote access software that does not require me to log in before making the connection, then setup everything to get Apollo/Artemis working. Cut the first remote connection, and then connect again to Apollo. But this adds way more overhead, and I want as smooth of an experience as possible without leaving my computer running 24/7. (So basically opening an app, turning computer on, connecting)
