Budget (including currency): 700 USD

Country: Iowa, USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Emulation up to 3DS, Minecraft, Unreal, Blender, and light game development work.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nmPicard/saved/3Byw7P

I’m planning on using Linux Mint, and still need a Keyboard and mouse, but would like them to stay reletivially cheap. I’m considering either this or a Steam Deck. Perfectly fine with 1080p, and I already have an ANBERNIC RG35XXSP for emulation up to the N64. (I used the Zach’s Tech Turf guide for a 500ish Pure Preformance build.)

My proudest achievement was being awarded "Most likely to talk about how Linux is the best operating system while mainly using an Apple Laptop" by peers in a community robotics league.

My least proud achievement was being awarded "Least likely to actually know what a command actually does in the terminal (Linux edition)" by the same group of peers.
