Hey everyone,

I am currently in the middle of upgrading my old PC after 6 or 7 years, and I need help deciding on a PSU.

Here’s my planned build (ignore that the region is not set to Hungary, its just here to show potential build): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q6M82x although the GPU choice is still not final. I am looking at 3 potential GPUs: RTX 3080 12GB, RX 7700 XT and the RX 9060 XT 16GB. These are all ~$460 USD brand new for me (I live in Hungary). Theres also the RX 7800 XT at ~$600 which is out of my budget currently, but I could save up for it.

My first question: Between those GPUs which is the best choice? I am on 1080p but might go up to 1440p later on. And if I go with the RTX 3080 12GB, will an 850W PSU be enough? Or should I look at 1000W units instead?

My second and main question: I looked at the old and new PSU tier list, LTT Labs results, read reviews on the Hardware Busters site, Kitguru site, whatever I was able to find on TomsHardware and TechPowerUp, but I am rather overwhelmed and cant really decide. I have these in mind:

Corsair RM1000e (2023), be quiet! Pure Power 12M 850W, be quiet! Power Zone 2 850W, ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 850W, ADATA XPG Core Reactor II VE 850W, NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1 (2024) 850W, Super Flower Leadex III Gold UP 850W, MSI MPG A850G, FSP VITA GM 850W, Montech CENTURY II and possibly the Lian Li Edge Gold 850W.

They are all close to each other price wise, between €120-135.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

If you only want a PSU for your current card and aren't planning on upgrading anytime soon, an 850W power supply will be more than enough

Not a very tough decision. Get the NZXT.

Is NZXT a safe, trusted brand to buy from? Personally, I never owned any products from them and I also dont know anyone in my circle who did. Im only asking since I've read many reports of coil whine on the C Gold series + theres the GamerNexus video on them. But i am leaning towards them because results seem really good

The brand name does not matter. As long as they got a good warranty. Which I think NZXT has at least a 10-year warranty on that model. I think a reason Sid chose that model because it is the latest ATX spec.
