currently using an asus rog x670ei for my 7800X3D but I cant increase its frequency to 5.05, it stays at 4.7 . Anyways to increase that?

PSU:seasonic core 780w

AIO:thermalright 240

RAM:gskill 16*2 6000 CL36

only thermal limits are increased to 90C and PBO enabled in BIOS

Make sure you're only stressing out one CPU core. The all-core boost is supposed to be 4.7Ghz, while the single core boost is over 5Ghz.

Do you have reason to believe this is possible? What methods are you using now? Are those all-core numbers? If you want to push clocks, swap in a 9800x3D.

Did you do PBO +200 and CO -30 (or other negative)?

Mine reaches 5.05GHz.  Look in HWINfo64, not Task Manager.

What software are you using for the clocks? Single core or all core?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

For the 7800X3D, 5GHz is the max boost, which is only going to be achieved during lightly threaded workloads. All-core won't hit 5GHz.

On 7000 series X3D chips, overclocking is locked down. You are allowed to use Curve Optimizer to undervolt it, and you can enable PBO, but you cannot change its boost behavior directly. This is because the 3D V-Cache is stacked on top, so functionally thermally insulates the cores, which makes traditional overclocking dangerous - at least, according to AMD. So AMD locked down overclocking.

If you want more consistent clocks, you can use Curve Optimizer to give it an undervolt, which should help with thermals and thus improve the boosting characteristics (since Ryzen boosts higher at lower temperatures). That's your best bet with a 7800X3D.

The 9000 series X3D CPUs are the only ones that are truly unlocked for overclocking.
