Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my pc and build a nas with the old components:

I now have

Ryzen 5 2400g

B450 Aorus Pro Gigabyte

I just bought this used mobo/cpu combo:

Ryzen 7 3700x

A520 Aorus Elite Gigabyte

 

Of course the 3700x is going in my pc and the 2400g in the nas, but I don't know what I should do with the motherboards. The A520 is a newer chipset but it's still an A chipset

A-series chipsets mean that there are less PCIE slots, less maximum RAM, and no overclocking, but if you are building a smaller NAS that doesn't need a lot of RAM or a crazy amount of GPUs, you should be fine. The A series motherboards don't have any less performance than B series do, though. Just less features.

The A520 doesn't support the 2400G, so there's only one functional arrangement between CPUs and motherboards.

I'll admit I didn't check before, but that cpu is listed in the compatibility list on gigabyte website, they even list first gen ryzens https://www.aorus.com/motherboards/a520-aorus-elite-rev-10/Support

A520 shouldn't support 2000G-series, but weirder things have happened with AM4 compatibility... not sure why the two sites have such different lists for the same board. Even the specifications list doesn't include 2000G...
