Hi  everyone!,

So I built my first pc about two weeks ago with the help of you lovely people, I have an amd ryzen5 7600 cpu and it idles between 45- 50 Celsius.

Originally it idled between 35-40 which I thought was hot but now it just seems extreme, nothing has changed except I have downloaded games I guess.

I have 3 intake fans on the bottom, a 240m aio cooler on the front side set to intake, one exhaust on the ceiling and another on the side panel nearest the cpu set to exhaust. Is this just a thermal paste issue, which I am hoping or could there be something more. The thing is, I built the pc not long ago, I do not know what could have gone wrong with the thermal paste application so badly, the only thing I can think is that I booted outside of the pc before hand and it took me a few hours to set up the cooler in the actual pc and smudged it abit so reapplied some without wiping the previous bit off, would this be causing the issue?

Where I am it is 30 celcius and outside at the moment but I have no idea what my ambient room temperature is.

I have task manager opened and nothing intensive is running, literally at 8% cpu usage.

I know a lot of people say do not worry, 7000 series runs hot and it doesn't matter unless throttling, but this seems insane.

Playing Baldurs Gate 3 last night and it was reaching temps of 83.

Im just concerned, could this be a deeper issue? I am worried that my pc has something wrong after all the excitement of it actually working.

Exactly that, these temps are fine

I have a 240mm AIO and see high 80s in games most of the time

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

Thankyou!! I've never felt the stress and the need for over-monitoring everything like have when building this thing. I am stressed about every slight thing haha so thankyou for the reassurance!

No worries, of course if it's 95 or over thats when it's a concern

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

I own a 7700x and 9800X3D and they run warm like yours.

I see nothing wrong here at all, the CPU's just doesn't care if its at 56c or 83c 🙂

83c during Baldurs Gate 3 really ain't bad at all!  Its a CPU intensive game.

My 7700x and 9800X3D would hit 85-90c during heavy combat in Hell Let Loose. I am no worried at all, I know these CPU's run warm.

My 9800X3D currently idles at 45-50c all the time, I dont see it below this.  It mainly sits at 50c at idle.

saying this, I recently just switched the aio cooler from exhaust to intake and now one of the fans is not working and rgb doesn't come on, the other fan does and rgb works. 😫 I feel like im doing more work troubleshooting and worrying than actually playing on my pc. Do you know why this could be?

I assume you simply just forgot to plug it back in, happens to me all the time.

Double check both of the connections. If they look like they are plugged in, take them out and plug them back in again

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

83 is OK for gaming.
