My mums £12 power supply is still running after 10 years daily use , not sure if we are getting scammed or not with these premium power supplies that cost loads ?

It resembled a can of beans when I fit it in 2004

Well here's the thing, if it has a 300 watt power supply and you mother only is pulling 100 watts, it doesn't really have to be of any quality. The issue comes when you are trying to pull 700 watts from a 750 watt unit.

What does it look like now?

Something containing that much magic in it, I'd wager if you rub it a few times it might transform again.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest offering it virgins, food, goats, prayer, baby hearts etc. to either appease the deity or creep the fk out of the magician hiding in there.

Think we may take the prem makers to court for fraud

If you're going down that path do not attempt any communication with the entity inside that PSU, otherwise it might try to testify against you.

But then again, you're not American, so have at it.

  • 3 weeks later...

Think we may take the prem makers to court for fraud

If you do you're gonna lose if you take a look at a cheap Dell PSU and then look at a unit from Seasonic you'll see that there is quite a big difference. your mom probably doesn't use that PSU to what its rated for but maybe she just got lucky.
