It's only been out for a couple of hours but what do think about it? For my part, I guess it's ok. I do wish there was a UI scale so it didn't look too squished together. Also not a fan of the bots that you can't turn off. Also wish the AR was a bit stronger and the unlocking every gun 3 times thing will probably get old quick. Also no mastery camos it seems. It's an alright game and all but I do think I'm gonna get sick of it pretty quick. As an average player (never been too good with the portals either), idk. The novelty just kinda wears out quick.

Yeah it just feels like an extremely standard multiplayer fps to me. The portals don’t do a ton and the gunplay and stuff just doesn’t feel very engaging imo

Currently Playing: Doom (2016)

Currently Listening To: Proof, Led Zeppelin

Hardware/Software: running old laptop with Ubuntu Server to run copyparty and a Terraria server, Steam Deck and high-ish end Windows 11 PC for gaming and content creation, Dell Inspiron laptop running Arch for school. Diehard iOS user, I lowkey want a mac too

Tbh, it kinda feels like a mobile game. They really need to re-work some things.

I saw they just dropped a battle royale mode, perhaps they can make that interesting. I personally would rather play something a little more fully cooked or with more unique gameplay, like The Finals. I do understand that SG2 is in early access so who knows, maybe they can turn it around. I also find the visual style weird, like I know it’s not but I can’t shake the feeling that everything in the game is an Unreal Engine template

It's fine. I think the games' systems do play a lot better when you are evenly matched up with a team, and I think the portals add quite a lot of fun in Splitball which is hands down the best mode in the game (stealing people's balls is so much fun).

My main complaint at the moment is that the hero/classes are nearly visually indistinguishable, and whilst there are exclusive perks/weapons for each class, which can drastically change the flow of combat. I could not tell you the name or what they look like right now without booting up the game. And whilst I'm complaining, the game's tutorial is extremely poor about telling you how to play objectives.

I'm hopeful for the future, however, considering how it's bounced off people, I am worried about the future. I think it's worth trying.
