So I wanted to know how to try to make the most of the games I have for Nintendo, as the games I like are limited. I don’t know if there’s ways to do anything to open up the games more, yes I buy all the add ons if I have the money. But there just aren’t a lot of choices, so I didn’t really mean hack, I meant more like does anyone know more about the systems and how to use them to the fullest possible potential. Sorry for the wrong terminology. ADHD brain gets ahead of me and I just type stuff out as it comes out. lol

I would be carefully doing anything to the switch Nintendo doesn't approve of because they changed the wording in on of the documents so they can render a switch permanently disable if they see fit

Do you mean modding?

I would stay away from messing with Nintendo.. They are strict and they can disable your device.

Only if that was the only thing they changed

They can do whatever they want regardless of reasoning and you have no right to take them to court.

Best you can hope for is arbitration where their numerous lawyers can and will squeeze you dry mentally and potentially financially

Best bet would probably be attempting to improve thermals. All but the smallest modifications will likely void any warranty on the device, but you could probably mount a fan on an intake to improve airflow at the cost of noise and inconvenience. Going deeper you can probably rip off the backplate and slap a waterblock on the compute cluster, then hook that up to a pump and radiator (or just a really big reservoir) to significantly bring down temps. 
Beyond that, there's not much to be done. And even those measures would only help in games that run the thing to the limit

Wish they had a better selection of games. I’m a bit picky I guess about what catches my attention, and some games a pretty expensive and I can’t afford them atm, and not sure I’d like them either, so I’m cautious when buying. But their selection seems more swayed towards the japanamation (not sure if correct terminology) games. Which for the most part, I’m just not into.

part of it is the hardware limitations of the switch

Afaik it is what it is. Unlikely you'll be able to run anything but Nintendo games on that.

Nintendo is a company that will never get my money.  Their games are expensive, their consumer practices is horrible.

Nintendo IS a japanese company so they do try to cater to that audience first.

Except for the bigger titles like Mario and Zelda of course.

It is what it is. Nintendo is its own ecosystem and they only have selected games compared to Playstation, XBOX / PC.

Yeah it’s very limited. I have an old Xbox and an old ps4 that doesn’t do discs. They both don’t work the best, as they are pretty old, the fan on the ps4 is pretty loud and it’s cleaned regularly. Even then it’s hard to know what games tk get that are really awesome!

I wasn’t allowed gaming as a kid so only got into it awhile back. So don’t know all the awesomeness out there yet for games!

For me on the PS4 it was definitely the Uncharted games and The Last Of Us 1 and 2.

The Last Of Us Part 1 is my favorite game, I even have a tattoo from the game!  Planning another large one  

Red Dead Redemption 2 was also absolutely fantastic on the base PS4.

Highly recommend playing the games.  Definitely worth checking regularly for a sale!

Its so much more than the series, even though season 1 is pretty accurate.

They even named episode 5 ''Endure and Survive''  Same as my tattoo

-The Jak and Daxter Collection with all 3 games.  They originally came out on Playstation 2 but they are definitely fan favorites.

-God of War is very very good. 

-Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Horizon Forbidden West are also top selling PS4 games. Absolutely stunning games with great story.

-The Last Guardian is a PS4 Exclusive, fantastic game.

-The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is also on PS4, top tier game.

-Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, its a remaster of a the same game that released on PS2 back in 2005. It won 5 awards that year.

-Mass Effect Legendary Edition are top tier best selling games on console and PC, it contains all 3 games with over 40 DLC's included.  Mass Effect is definitely one of my favorite story rich RPGs.

there's also Elden Ring, but I don't know how well it runs on the ps4

I’ll check it out and see. Are a lot of these expensive? Unfortunately I have to go cheap on almost everything but it is what it is and I’ll take any good cheap ish game I can!!! just want a good distraction

elden ring is $38 on amazon so more on the expensive side, but not as much as the $60 on pc.

Right now this is what I have for gaming for the most part. I got it about 4-5 years ago. And then the old Xbox and old ps4. The ps4 is mostly used for YouTube by my boyfriend. And the Xbox is mostly used by my son(s)
