so im considering getting the ModMic 4.0 to replace my corsair 2100(my wifes broke and im thinking about just giving her mine and getting myself something fancy) since i've heard nothing but good things about it. but im not sure what headphones i should get to go with them.   i do a lot of gaming, and skype, and usually have music going at the same time as everything else.  im not an audiophille in the slightest, but im looking for something that doesnt sound like crap, and is actually affordable.

any suggestions?

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

I have Astro A40's, they don't sound like crap, you can get it with an Amp or without, and they aren't that expensive compared to something like Sennheiser HD800.

i looked those up and they actually look very decent, however after reading some reviews, i'd have to have a rather large head(which i dont), and have to put up with 20ft of cable, which wouldnt work as my cat is a bit of an asshole :(

There is a simple mod to correct for the headband size, and a nice velcro cable wrap is included. Supposedly having a braided cable is also a good thing for cats?

If those solutions don't ease your concerns then maybe one of the other headphones I listed would be good.

The mic is detachable...

he'd still be paying for it when he doesn't need it. Also, gaming headsets are inferior to separate solutions.
